Why School Camp’s Should Not Be Banned!
I believe school camps should not be banned for these reasons.
My first reason is that the students are learning new things but the camp is making it more fun. For example, if the students have to sleep in a tent for a night, the people who work at the camp would tell them what to do and what not to do whilst camping and to make it more interesting. The camp owners would let the kids do a night walk and they have to follow a map, to guide them to get to their destination. The people who work at the camp would be at the destination and they gave out marshmallows to the students so they could roast the marshmallows on a campfire.
My second reason is that it is a good experience to go somewhere and stay there for a couple of days without your families because some kids might not be used to going somewhere without their family and going to camp might help them get use to leaving their families and going camp so when the students are in high school, they might have to go overseas or stay longer on camps and this give them less reasons to get home sick if they get use to living away from the family.
My next reason is some of the activities we do at camp, we might not be able to do at home like the giant swing, because for 1, we don’t have the materials to make it and 2, it won’t fit in your backyard unless you have a farm.
My final reason is that the students can make new friends or make new friendship groups and they could like the same things that you like and maybe in the future, you could be friends in high school, in university and maybe in their adult years.
In conclusion, I believe going to camp is a great experience for everyone to enjoy they get to try new things that you would normally not do at home or at school.

Why Do Things Breathe?
Why do living things breathe? When do they stop?
The heartbeat is the sound of the heart pumping to push blood around the body. The blood has four main components, which are: the red blood cells, the white blood cells, the liquid and plasma. The red blood cell will carry the oxygen and it will go to every area of the body.
Sometimes, if people run, the oxygen won’t flow around the body as well as it would and people will be out of breath. When you’re running fast, the human body needs more oxygen, so our hearts beat faster to pump it round our body.
The heart is responsible for pumping the oxygen rich-blood that goes through the very small tubes that go to every single part of our body. The blood is pushed to all of the parts of our body, then the blood is pushed back again. Did you know that it takes less than one minute for the blood to go around our body?
The circulating is about the blood circulating around the body. The system is called the circulatory system because the blood is circulating around the body. If we don’t have the circulatory system, we wouldn’t be alive.
In conclusion, the circulating system is very important for our body and if we don’t have it, we wouldn’t be alive.

A Girl That Goes To War
It’s 1938 the year before World War 2 and Eleanor Williams is a sixteen year old girl who lives in Melbourne with her best friend Harriet Clifford. Harriet Clifford is Eleanor’s best friend. They have always been there for each other so thats why they are best friends.
When Harriet and I went to school , we were bullied because we weren’t as rich as the other kids so that is why we were bullied. One thing the bullies said changed our lives.
“ I bet you girls won’t be able to go to war since you would be so scared,” said one of the bullies.
“ No we won’t,” I told the bully.
“ Yeah, if we could go to war, we would!” Harriet said.
After that situation occurred, we started talking about the war and that Adolf Hitler was crazy just because Germany was on the losing side. They just have to get over it.
After school, Harriet invited me to her house so we could think of ideas how we could stop the bullying, but got off track and started talking about war.
“ I think we should go to war,” I told Harriet. “Yeah but they only accept boys.” “ That is why we dress up as boys,” I explained to Harriet.
3 Months Later…
“Are you ready?”
“ Yeah,” I said back.
So then we picked up our things and went to a motel. When we arrived at our hotel, we got scissors and started to cut our hair. When we finished I said, “ Wow, our hair looks good!” and Harriet nodded .
“ Well we need to go to bed so we can go to the administration center,” I said and after that, we fell asleep.
Next Day At Administration Center…
“NEXT!” said a woman, we both walked up. “ What are your names?” said another lady.
“ I’m Clifford Green and this my brother Will Green” Harriet said to the lady and pointed to me when she said my name.
“ How old are you?” asked the same lady.
“ We are both 17,” I said this time.
“Okay go through for your uniform.”
After we got our uniform, we wereshown to our room that we would stay in until war and we just rested.
Next Year 1939 Eleanor and Harriet arrived at Gallipoli.
When we arrived,we heard a big bang and we saw one of our soldiers shot a German soldier. Straight after that, we heard one of our soldiers yell out ,“ GET IN HERE!” so we jumped into the bunker and then we could hear another explosion and I saw one of our soldiers go down.
6 months later…
“ Wow, I can’t believe we have survived some of this,” Harriet told me, I nodded. After our little conversation, we got our weapons and then we got out of the bunker. I saw a German coming our way and I shot him in the chest and he dropped down onto the ground.
In the far view, Harriet and I could see three men coming our way but they weren’t Australian soldiers, they were German soldiers carrying bombs and their guns. When I wasn’t looking, there was gun fire and I felt something hit my leg and I fell to the ground . I looked at my leg and blood was gushing out. Everything turned dizzy and I blacked out.
When I woke up, I was in the bunker with Harriet and with some of our soldiers, and the pain in my leg was gone so I stood up and grabbed my things with Harriet.
“ William and Clifford, while you were in here, lots of our soldiers got shot down and most of them died, so we need you guys to work hard .Okay?” said our captain.
3 years later
After we both got up,and we through a bomb in the german bunker and we took cover and we both saw an explosion with soldiers flying everywhere.
“Wow! that was so cool!” Harriet said.
“It was,” I said back to her.
“ When we went back to the bunker, our captain said to us ,“ Clifford and William, I am going to send you back home because you boys are too young and you have to be with your family” “ Okay, good luck and try to be on the winning side,” Harriet told him and I nodded. So then we packed up our things and head back home.
In Australia…
Home sweet home.” I said.
“ Yep,” Harriet said back in response.
When we went back to school, our bullies came up and said to us, “Where did you go?”
“ Well we just went to war,”Harriet said back.
“ Prove it,” they said back.
“ Well, I have my uniform and a picture.” I showed them.
The bullies faces went embarrassed. “ Oh, we didn’t know that you really went. We are sorry that we bullied you. We did it because we were jealous of you guys. Can you forgive us ?” one of our bullies said.
“ Okay we forgive you,” I said.
Every day since the war, we became stronger and we haven’t been bullied ever since.

Our Genius Hour
For genius hour Jahaira, Stephanie and I made tie dye tops. Our big question was ‘How do we make tie dye tops.’ We found out this included chemicals such as soda ash. Safety is really important so we wore a mask and a plastic apron, we had to use parent supervision so my mum came to mix the soda ash and to be sure we were okay.
The colours we used for our tops were: yellow, golden, turquoise, magenta, orange and deep blue. The steps were we had to twist the tops so they looked like cinnamon buns. To make the tops secure, we used elastic bands to hold them. Next, we put the soda ash and water into the dye bottles and then we started to put the dyes in. The order was: yellow, yellow, turquoise, golden, orange, deep blue then magenta.
When we finished, we wrapped up all of the tops in news paper so it wouldn’t drip and then we wrapped it in a garbage bag for more safety. When we took it home, we had to put the tops in a safe and warm place for 24 hours. After the 24 hours, we took the tops out and rinsed them in cold water until there was no colour in the water. Next, we put them in the washing machine then hung them up to dry.
The things we found difficult was finding the tie dye kit and we chose the ‘ great big tie dye kit’ which was a good choice. Another difficult thing was twisting the tops because we had to see the swirls of the top. We chose this topic because it was a fun but a challenging topic to do and we used chemicals we didn’t know.
All in all, we had great fun making tops and we could do this again.

Giuseppe Parissi
At the age of 16, Giuseppe Parissi left Ascoli Piceno, Italy to migrate to Australia.
Giuseppe Parissi was born on 10th of February 1939 in Ascoli Piceno, Italy. He had 3 brothers and 2 sisters. He left Ascoli Piceno to migrate to Australia for a better life and so he could get a job. Before he migrated to Australia, his older brother Marco, was already in Australia working. When he was on the ship, he missed his family a lot because he was on his own and he wouldn’t see them for a long time.
Ascoli Piceno is in the east of Rome and it is a town like Ballarat and it sits in the valley and you can also see all of the mountains. In the history of Ascoli Piceno, lots of gladiators would live in towers near the river.
In 1955, he left Ascoli Piceno to migrate to Australia and he was 16 years old and he travelled by a ship called Oceania. The trip took 27 days and it was fun for him. When the boat was three days to Australia everyone got sea sick from the big waves.
When he arrived to Port Melbourne, he stayed with his brother Marco who migrated to Australia in 1952. After a couple of days in Port Melbourne he settled in quickly and he got a job at a hostel where there was 600 people and his job was a kitchen hand. After 2-3 weeks, he quit. He quit because he didn’t know how to speak english so he got another job with only Australians and he learnt how to speak English by them.
The house he lived in with his brother was two storey house with two bedrooms downstairs, two rooms upstairs, a kitchen, a bathroom and a loungeroom.
A couple of years later, his brother Pasquale, Frank and his little sister Antonieta migrated to Australia with his parents so the family could be together.
Years later, Giuseppe Parissi got married to Maria Parissi and had a son John.
All of the years Giuseppe Parissi lived in Australia, he has been loving it.

Why We Should Take Care Of The Planet.
I believe it is important to take care of the environment. If we don’t, something could happen like animals would get extinct or global warming can occur.
My first reason is if we don’t take care of the environment, rubbish would be everywhere. If we leave rubbish on the ground, the wind can blow the rubbish into the sea and it can be harmful to the animals. For example, if there was a plastic bag and a turtle went inside it or ate it, it could suffocate the turtle because it thought was a jellyfish. Poor turtles!
If there were less trees, it would be bad for the environment because trees gives us oxygen and if we don’t have a lot trees, the air would become dirty from smoke, fuel from cars and more. Another reason is some animals live in trees like koalas, red pandas, birds and more. If we don’t have any plants, insects would be gone because insects might live in them or it could be food.
We can take care of the planet by turning off the lights before you leave a room, get solar panels, to stop wasting electricity, put rubbish into the bin instead of littering, stop cutting down a lot of trees, don’t burn fossil fuels or coal, recycle paper and cardboard and many more actions are possible.
In conclusion, if we don’t take care of the planet, there will be rubbish everywhere, there will be less trees, a lot of pollution in the sky and more, but if we do take care of our planet, it will be clean and healthy for us.
